MGM Resorts International has announced a $500 million investment to expand convention and meeting facilities across its Las Vegas Strip portfolio. The expansion will add 200,000 square feet of flexible meeting space across MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, and Park MGM.
The project responds to record demand for convention space in Las Vegas, which hosted over 6 million convention attendees in 2024. The expansion includes state-of-the-art AV technology, sustainable design features, and flexible configurations for events of all sizes.
'Las Vegas continues to be the top convention destination in North America,' said Bill Hornbuckle, MGM Resorts CEO. 'This expansion ensures we can accommodate growing demand while delivering world-class experiences.'
Construction will be phased to minimize disruption to existing events, with completion scheduled for 2027. The expansion will create 800 construction jobs and 200 permanent positions. MGM is also investing in technology upgrades across all existing convention spaces.
