Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) has unveiled District 2020, a new convention quarter featuring 250,000 square meters of integrated meeting and exhibition space. The development transforms the former Expo 2020 site into a permanent convention destination.
District 2020 includes multiple pavilions converted into flexible meeting venues, connected by landscaped walkways and entertainment zones. The district features sustainable design throughout, with solar power, water recycling, and extensive green spaces.
'District 2020 positions Dubai as a year-round convention powerhouse,' said Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General of DWTC. 'We're creating an integrated convention destination that combines meetings, exhibitions, entertainment, and hospitality in one location.'
The district includes three hotels totaling 1,500 rooms, numerous restaurants, and extensive outdoor event spaces. Advanced technology infrastructure supports hybrid and virtual events. Several major international conventions have already committed to hosting events at District 2020.
